Principle:
Using Image Processing algorithms an image is processed, and the key features that are required to plot the image are abstracted from it using OpenCV in Python. Using the calibration results obtained from the data taken to analyze the 5/3 direction control valves, the best polynomial curve is fit. Regression analysis was used to obtain an optimum polynomial curve plotted for time delay against distance to be reached. This increased the precision of Switching time of 5/3 valves. An error of less than 0.4 cm was achieved. The whole information required to plot the image after incorporating with the Regression Analysis results was send to the Arduino and is directly saved to an SD card. Then the data is read from the SD- card and the pneumatic pistons were made to move to the exact location where the plot has to be made using 5/3 direction control valves. The Plotter pen was moved up and down using a Servo motor and a Rack and Pinion arrangement. The rack was attached to the pen and pinion was rotated to a specific back and forth angle using the servo. Likewise the entire image is plotted on a sheet of paper. Technology used:
