Challenge:
The challenge for the ABU RoboCon 2013 was to design a manual and an automatic robot that work together to transport objects to various locations within the arena. After completing these tasks, the manual robot has to shoot an object; the team whose manual robot shoots an aerodynamic object to land on a pedestal first, wins the challenge. The NIT Calicut team became the first and only team from the state of Kerala to participate in the event. An aerodynamic structure was designed to comply with the game rules, an air cannon was designed and fabricated to launch the object so that it can follow a particular trajectory and land vertically on the pedestal. The pneumatic circuit was designed and implementation in both the manual and automatic robots. |
